Ninug Room

You slept badly. This is the part that says why.

Every wearable can tell you the night was poor. None of them can tell you the room was at 1,400 ppm of carbon dioxide by three in the morning, or that the street woke you at five. Ninug Room measures what you were lying in, so the two can be read against each other.

What it measures

Five things about the room, once a minute, all night.

  • Carbon dioxideA true NDIR sensor rather than a cheap proxy that guesses CO₂ from volatile compounds. In a closed bedroom or a full classroom this is usually the number that explains the afternoon
  • NoiseA sound level, not a recording. There is no microphone stream leaving the device and no audio stored anywhere — the only thing kept is how loud it was
  • LightBrightness and how blue it is, which is what actually moves a body clock
  • TemperatureIncluding the drop through the night, which matters more for sleep than the number on the thermostat at bedtime
  • HumidityDry air at the end of a heated night has its own signature

Why it exists

The correlation is the product.

A body reading on its own is a score. A room reading on its own is a weather report. Put a week of both side by side and you get the only sentence anybody wanted: this happens to you when the room does that — which is something you can act on, because a window is easier to change than a physiology.

It works on its own, without a band. It just gets considerably more interesting with one.

In a classroom

Wall-mounted, and the reason the bands work without phones.

Mounted on a wall it does the same measuring, and one more job: it is what a room full of Ninug Bands talk to. No student needs a phone, nothing pairs to anything personal, and the teacher gets the room rather than a list of children.

The sensor and the band are sold separately and work separately. The bundle exists because almost nobody wants half the measurement once they have seen both halves.
